(Wilmington, DE - November 18, 2003)
Patricia Creedon, President, Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors, Inc. completed the inaugural Executive Education Program for Women Business Enterprise owners at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University.
The Women Business Enterprise National Council has partnered with the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth to offer The Tuck-WBENC Executive Program. The executive management course was held October 6-10, 2003 at the Dartmouth campus in Palisades, New York. Only WBENC-certified WBE owners with 3 to 5 years of experience and minimum annual sales of $300,000 were eligible to apply for the program.
Presented by IBM, and co-sponsored by PepsiCo Foundation, Pfizer and Shell, the Tuck-WBENC Executive Program offered a step-by-step curriculum designed to grow small to medium size businesses with a focus on improving strategic planning, organization, resources, and systems and processes. The course was limited to 60 students and taught by top faculty members at the prestigious Dartmouth Business School. Topics included strategic planning, as well as organization, resource, systems and
process development.
"This program will serve as a benchmark for the first graduating class of women business owners to credit as having a direct impact on their ability to grow their businesses," said Susan Bari, president of WBENC. "The feedback from the women business owners has been outstanding, and we are looking forward to offering the program to WBEs again in 2004." According to Patricia Creedon, President, Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors, "The Tuck-WBENC Executive Program was an extraordinary
experience. We consumed a lot of information and learned a lot during those five days. It was truly time well spent. Just as memorable as the courses was the opportunity to network with some outstanding women business owners. Some of whom I know I'll be doing business with in the near future."
