March 2004 – Muscular
Dystrophy Association Benefit, Iron Hill Brewery
Patricia
Creedon, President, Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors has
been charged with aiding and abetting MDA with the intent of helping
area residents with muscular dystrophy. Pat
was arrested by a deputy who transported her to the “Maximum
Appreciation Facility” at Iron Hill Brewery where she was
held for one hour. Not to worry, Pat’s numerous business
colleagues ‘bailed her out’ with their generous donations
to this worthy cause.

2003 – 1st Annual
Junior Achievement Young Women’s Call to Action Conference.
Patricia
Creedon, President, Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors served
as a role model & mentor at the first Annual Junior Achievement
Young Women’s Call to Action Conference. The
event was held on Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at the Conectiv Conference
Center in Newark, Delaware. The program featured interactive career,
economic and personal empowerment presentations for approximately
115 high school sophomores and juniors from public and private schools
in the State of Delaware, Salem County, New Jersey and Cecil County,
Maryland. Successful business women who represent a variety of career
options were recruited to serve as mentors for the students on conference
day. Mentors also invited students to complete the Junior Achievement
‘Job Shadow’ program at their place of business after
the conference.

2003 – Delaware
Contractors Association Hands-On Trade Show
Each
year Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors participates in the
DCA Hands-On Trade Show, held in November at the Nur Temple in New
Castle, Delaware. More than 1,500 5th and 8th grade students from
public and private schools in New Castle County, Delaware the event
where they interact with business people in the construction industry.
A new group of 300 students arrive at the show every hour to experience
interactive demonstrations that provide valuable insights into a
career in construction. At the Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors
exhibit, students programmed a circuit board capable of powering
a variety of common electrical occurrences, such as lighting a bulb
or making a particular sound. This event is just one of the school-to-work
projects that is supported by Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors.

2003 – Pat Creedon
Completes Executive Education Program for Women Business Enterprise
owners at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University
Patricia
Creedon, President, Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors, completed
the inaugural Executive Education Program for Women Business Enterprise
owners at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University. The
course was held October 6-10, 2003 at the Dartmouth campus in Palisades,
New York. Only Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
certified owners with three to five years of experience and minimum
annual sales of $300,000 were eligible to apply for the program.
Presented by IBM, and co-sponsored by the PepsiCoFoundation, Pfizer
and Shell, the Tuck-WBENC Executive Program offered a step-by-step
curriculum designed to grow small to medium sized businesses with
a focus on improving strategic planning, organization, and resources,
as well as systems and processes.

Entrepreneur’s Forum
As
the 2002 Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year, Patricia Creedon served
on the panel of experts for the 2003 Entrepreneur’s Forum
hosted by the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. The fourth
annual forum was held on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the Holiday Inn
Select. The program is designed to provide area business owners
with the opportunity to learn, be inspired and connect with the
people they need to make their business more successful. The highlight
of the event are the presentations by award-winning entrepreneurs.
Each one of these business leaders has been recognized for their
achievements. Although the companies they lead are diverse, attendees
found striking similarities in their stories of risk, courage and
determination.

January 2003 – The
Delaware Construction Council is Formed.
The
Delaware Construction Council is formed and Patricia Creedon is
selected to serve on the Executive Committee. The Council is a labor
and management organization shoes mission is to foster better understanding
and communication between union workers and contractors. The primary
goals are to increase industry competitiveness and economic development
opportunities by improving worker productivity and reducing absenteeism.
The Council has 39 members representing most of the industry trades.

June 2002 – Creedon
Controls Electrical Contractors Certified as a Disadvantaged Business
Enterprise (DBE) firm with the Delaware Department of Transportation
Patricia Creedon,
President, Creedon Controls Electrical Contractors has been certified
as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) firm with the Delaware
Department of Transportation. The firm is now eligible to participate
as a DBE on Federal-Aid projects let by DelDOT. The certification
will remain valid until June 30, 2005. |
